Visas

Greetings,
Hoping that everyone enjoyed their Christmas and that each of you took time out to reflect upon the birth of our Savior. We have had a great few days, but now we are all feeling on the edge of some sickness. The weather here in Houston has been so ridiculous- we go from the low 80's to the low 50's overnight.
The next few weeks are going to be insane so I just wanted to keep you up to date on what we are looking at over the next 28 days.
-Paperwork for our Visas. We thought we had it all then found out we didn't and then...oh wait, we do, and now we don't. The girls birth certificates came back wrong so now we have to wait again for them to be done right, and we still need some medical forms stating that none of us are carrying any infectious diseases or anything like that. Apparently Spain is one of the more difficult countries to get a visa from so we want to make sure we have EVERYTHING together before we make the trip to NOLA to fill out the paper work.
-We have pretty much whittled our belongings down to 8 suitcases, we are just trying to make some final decisions about Ian's bike and my sewing machine. We are just trying to make sure we are being realistic about what we are bringing.
-Continue to pray for our families as they are just dealing with all of their feelings. We are so excited and ready to go and they are just not ready to let us go. They are very supportive, they just wish we could be around longer.
Thanks for your interest in our lives.
Love,
Katie

On the Road Again

"On the road again" is most definitely our family theme song. Since October1 we have been in Hattiesburg for about 8 weeks, we spent one week in the middle in Houston for our appointment, and now we are on our last big family stop in Katy, TX visiting with my parents and sisters. We will be here until about the 25th of January when we go to Richmond, VA for our training at the International Learning Center of the International Mission Board. We have a tentative departure date of March 27th for the BIG move. We are down to one car and about 8 suitcases for the 5 of us. We have been laughing because I key chains look like they could belong to a child- only one sad little key.

In terms of prayer request we only have a few:

Pray for our time left with our families.

Pray for the churches that we will have the opportunity to speak in and ask for prayer support. Pray for the folks we talk to, to be challenged to not only pray for us, but consider a short term trip to work along side us.

Pray for the hearts of the Basque people to be softened to the gospel.

Pray for us as we begin our training-stateside and our language once we get there.

Thanks for checking in on us-would love to hear from all of you!

Love, Katie
